JANNIS CARBOTTA, born 1993, is a musician and sound artist who currently lives in Cologne and studies Music & Media at Robert Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf. Beside that he completed a short-term study at the Kunstuni Graz in Computermusic and Sound Art. The focus of Jannis’ artistic work explores the tensions between analog and digital spaces and his musical approach is sometimes focussed on processed field recordings of sonic textures and material, sometimes consists of adventures in experiments on synthesizers and electronic guitar. Apart from his studies at the Institute for Music and Media, which also develops his skills in visual and sonic arts, he has always been active in various band formations as a guitarist, bass & synth player, producer and curates as a DJ radio shows and mixes. Currently he is part of an experimental indie band called Infant Finches and works on his fist solo EP which will be released on the label Kame House in early 2023.
